Although you bought the application, in certain cases developers opt for another payment even for the upgrade. This is a similar case with your problem. It seems that the update requires another CD-key or if your product was licensed on a yearly basis then if you want to use the new version of the software, a payment is required.

You can input a custom resolution or you can use the settings of this application to stretch the image.
